Echoes of a River is a project on the Los Angeles River. Focusing on the natural elements of the river, the images speak to the river of the past, pre-colonization—a river so far removed from it’s form today. I’m fascinated by the history of the river and how it’s significance in the development of Los Angeles has been lost or forgotten over the course of time. This project is rooted in an attempt to imagine how Los Angeles, and it’s residents, could form a more harmonious and integrated relationship to this river.
